Daniel IBLED est né à Saint Etienne le 6juillet 1959.

Attiré depuis son enfance par le travaildes volumes, il a effectué après ses études, une première formation d’ébénistesculpteur, à l’académie Saint Luc de Tournai, en Belgique, qui l’a familiariséavec le bois et surtout avec la technique des assemblages. Ensuite, tout enmenant une recherche personnelle en sculpture, il a travaillé en restaurationde meubles, puis il s'est orienté vers la restauration de sculptures. C’est sonmétier aujourd’hui. Formé à l’Institut Français de Restauration des Œuvresd’Art, il travaille pour les musées nationaux et à l’étranger où il assure descampagnes de restauration et de formation.

Ce parcours, un peu particulier, lui apermis l’approche d’une autre lecture possible d’une œuvre, de la réinventer àpartir de ce qu’elle est devenue, avec son histoire et ses traumatismes enintégrant pleinement les traces de son passé, permettant ainsi la naissanced’une nouvelle œuvre à partir de l’ancienne.

C’est cette même lecture parallèle qu’ilutilise actuellement dans sa recherche artistique en recomposant des oiseaux,par un jeu d’assemblage de fragments de bois trouvés au hasard de ses voyages.

Daniel Ibled travaille le bois, matériauvivant par excellence, le laisse brut pour en préserver toute son histoire. Ilparvient ainsi, par un détail - une cicatrice, une courbe, un nœud ou un défaut- à évoquer une tête, un corps, un plumage, une aile. Entre réalisme etabstraction, Daniel Ibled utilise comme support de travail, la réalité qu’ildétourne en toute subjectivité.

Divers de part leurs origines, maisassemblés sous les mains de l’artiste, ces fragments de bois sont pour lui lepoint d’appel de son imagination. Une façon de leur redonner vie, alors qu’ilsétaient voués à disparaître.

Selon les caprices de son imagination,Daniel Ibled fait naître tantôt une sculpture aux formes connues, tantôt unesilhouette plus abstraite. Mais jamais il n’est dans une rechercheornithologique, toujours dans une démarche artistique et onirique.

De objecten die onder meer zijn uitgevoerd inglas-in-lood toepassingen, verwijzen naar uiteenlopende levensbronnen die metelkaar gemeen hebben dat ze nieuwe impulsen geven aan de verwondering over deschoonheid van het leven.

L'AVENIR: ART SANCTUARY GARDEN RECEIVES 1ST PRIZE:)

Ils ont le plus beau jardin de Jodoigne - 26/11/2011
JODOIGNE -
Tone Aanderaa et Ignace Clarysse ont remporté le prix Jardins fleuris de la Ville. Anne Colinet et Nina Seilleur ont aussi été distinguées.
Durant l’été, un jury de quatre personnes présidé par Bénédicte Maréchal parcourait les jardins des candidats au plus beau jardin et à la plus belle façade fleurie de Jodoigne. Verdict ? Le premier prix dans la catégorie Jardins fleuris (11 candidats) est allé à Tone Aanderaa et Ignace Clarysse (Sainte-Marie-Geest), devant les ex aequo Patricia Duchatelet (Jodoigne-Souveraine) et Joseph Dewael (Jodoigne), puis ex aequo encore M. et Mme Guilmot (Jauchelette) et Francine Ceuppens (Lathuy).
Dans la catégorie Façades fleuries (11 candidats également), Anne Colinet (Saint-Jean-Geest) l’emporte grâce à ses magnifiques surfinias blancs, devant Carine Meys (Jodoigne) et Monique Sambrée (Lathuy).

Dans la catégorie Commerces, (3 candidats), Nina Seilleur (café Le Tonneau) prend le meilleur sur le home Le Cèdre bleu et la société Verabel. La terrasse de son café est fleurie toute l’année.
À l’issue de la remise des prix par les autorités communales mardi, Tone Aanderaa avait le triomphe modeste. « Mon mari et moi participions pour la première fois au concours. Le jardin est la symbiose de nos rêves, mais c’est mon mari qui a l’a dessiné et réalisé. Il y a planté une centaine de cerisiers il y a bien longtemps puis l’a embelli de pièces d’eau. Moi, je ne suis arrivée qu’il y a quelques années et ma contribution est assez limitée » Elle oubliait de dire qu’elle y a organisé en juin dernier une exposition de sculptures avec l’aide de ses amis artistes, ce qui a donné une dimension nouvelle à leur magnifique jardin.

Autumn is approaching (or is it already here?), certainly also in Art Sanctuary's 'Enchanted Garden' - and it's a beautiful time! (See previous post)
- And with autumn comes also preparations for a new Spring - a New Year - New artists - and a NEW Exhibition.
- Our biggest pond is getting bigger...and the brooks are getting clearer - and it's an amazing thing to be in a place with SO much water....Dig a hole in the ground...and if you dig deep enough, there's another source of water! Trickling.... running...or just sitting there - like a magic mirror!
- Digging and filling - and thinking - and wondering....and planning....
We will be at least 30 artists in 2012;

Sculptures dans le Jardin Enchanté

Des sculptures à l’extérieur en accord harmonieux avec l’environnement.
Pas forcément une recherche exagérée de mise en valeur des pièces
qui doivent s’intégrer parfaitement aux plantes, aux arbres, au paysage,
au type de terrain.

Une recherche d’adéquation, et non pas une rivalité avec la nature.
Un consensus plutôt qu’une disparité, l’amour, plutôt que l’opposition.
Un regard englobant le tout (Land-Art).

Pas de séparation, mais un retour à la fusion.
Une humilité face à l’exubérance de la vie végétale.
Une approche simple, un dévoilement progressif.

Ne jamais perdre l’unité.
Solidarité et respect, sans faille.
La beauté sans vanité.

L’expression plutôt que l’endormissement.
Des retrouvailles avec la magie, avec les forces perdues ou saccagées de Gaia*
Des petits objets d’humanité, sans prétention, patiemment construits.
Un simple rayon de soleil ou de lune, pour éclairer une présence discrète.

Un secret à découvrir,
Une sagesse à contempler,
Des devas* à écouter.

Le vent dans les arbres,
Chant unique pour éveiller l’esprit des feuilles des fleurs des herbes sauvages.
Quelques pas maladroits pour tituber sur un sol fait de bosses et de fosses.
Une promenade vers notre enfance, à la recherche des émotions perdues.

Pousser les branches pour se frayer un passage,
S’écorcher les genoux en tombant sur les cailloux,
Se lacérer les chevilles en enjambant les lianes,
Retrouver le goût des cerises sauvage, des groseilles et des mûres.

Sculptures pour rêver.
Installations précaires subissant vent, pluie, orage, grêle.
Enfin les éléments retrouvés,
Dans un jardin enchanté.

The meeting of two worlds. Nicky Bendix, a traditional European composer and modern spiritual improviser and Natalie Ingwersen, celtic harp player and percussionist with her roots in musical traditions from around the world.

Floating, beautiful melodies interchanging with deep drums and complex harmonies – a journey through the landscapes of ancient music traditions mixed with modern sounds and the harmonic movements of classical European music.

The focal point for the duo Lysval is the language of the Spirit – the aim is to speak to the heart and soul of the listener.

Composer, pianist, synthesizer player and sound designer.

Working internationally as a composer.

Has composed and performed for modern dance, theatre, movies and cross-art projects for the last 20 years and worked extensively as a jazz pianist.

Nicky has also given many meditation concerts in churches around Denmark and Germany.

He has performed primarily in Denmark, Germany and Colombia, South America.

Awards: ”Jazz musician of the year, 1995” in Funen, Denmark.

Harp player and percussionist.

A student of the internationally acclaimed harpist Uschi Laar, Natalie has pursued the harp traditions of many different countries around the world.

Natalie is an accomplished percussionist that leads her own percussion group in northern Germany.

She performs intensively around Germany and also makes priorities to play in settings like hospitals and churches where her music can soothe the soul and mind of those present.

JODOIGNE - Ils ont déjà voulu exposer chez Tone Belle histoire que celle de l’artiste Tone Aanderaa. Après s’être installée dans l’ancien relais de Sainte-Marie-Geest, elle va unir sa destinée ce 11 juin à Ignace Clarysse (à l’arrière-plan). Comme une exposition est prévue dans le jardin des époux en juillet, des sculpteurs du Brabant wallon (à l’avant-plan) ont décidé dès à présent d’installer leurs œuvres dans la verdure pour le mariage.

NICKY BENDIX - Composer, pianist, sound designer, orchestrator and conductor;

Over the last 20 years Nicky Bendix has been composing, recording, performing and conducting music for modern dance and theatre, performance and installation arts, movies and visual media, and for orchestras of many different shapes and sizes.

Durant ces 20 dernières années, Nicky Bendix a composé principalement de la musique pour le théâtre et la danse moderne, pour des performances et installations artistiques ainsi que pour des orchestres, films et multi media.

'I have a living, spontaneous and mysterious relationship with music. The compositions quite simply appear, fully developed, in the moment, and I often function more like a secretary taking "notes" than as a traditional composer. All my, for now, 14 albums consist of completely improvised music, first and only take. Performed on solo piano or on up to 9 keyboards at a time. Still each track has it's own unique style, mood or melody.

The music often reflects spiritual values, visits celestial worlds, gives form to matters of the soul and heart, or explores the deep mythological memory of the people of this planet. Like it has done in this project named "Midnight in the Enchanted Forest"
I love entering new territory and, through the medium of music and sound, discover and capture what the new landscape holds in store.
I do occasionally compose the old fashioned way too - with pen and paper. All depends on the task at hand.'

Je fonctionne le plus souvent tel un “secrétaire prenant des notes” plutôt que comme un compositeur classique …Les 14 albums composés à ce jour, sont entièrement improvisés, première version, une seule prise… Je les interprète au piano solo ou jusqu’à 9 claviers à la fois.
Chaque plage possède son style unique, son état d’âme, sa mélodie.
La musique reflète souvent les valeurs spirituelles, elle visite les mondes célestes et donne forme aux questions de l’âme et du cœur. Elle explore la mémoire profonde et mythologique des peuples de cette planète, comme cela a été le cas pour le projet “Minuit dans le Jardin Enchanté”.
J’aime entrer dans un nouvel univers, le découvrir et saisir ses mystères par l’intermédiaire de la musique et du son.

Guy Demoor is fascinated by unexpected and troublemaking confrontations.
In his work he creates a constant disbelief in reality by implementing quadruple input and meanings.

The spectator is, (perhaps?) unfortunately for him, forced to take part as the most important piece in the art object and installation.

The combination of hardware (the installation or painting) and software (the brain) has to make believers and non-believers in every aspect of the idea behind the work of art.

His dice is about the place of the artist as a clown in a not so complex, but hidden, world of art galleries and musea.

Guy Demoor is gebiologeerd door onverwachte en onrustbarende aanvaringen.

Door een mengen van een veelheid aan ideeën en meningen in zijn werk creëert hij meerdere dubbele bodems voor de realiteit.
De toeschouwer is, (misschien) spijtig voor hem, verplicht deel te nemen als het voornaamste onderdeel van het kunstwerk of de installatie.
De combinatie van hardware (de installatie of het schilderij) en de software (de hersenen) verplichten om zowel believers als non-believers te maken voor elk idee dat in het kunstwerk schuil gaat.

Metal in all shapes and forms comes to life in new and surprising combinations;

A bird takes flight, a horse is jumping, a bull is grazing peacefully - heavy metal somehow seems to be defying gravity.
Mijn grondmateriaal is ijzer of andere metalen.

Graag wil ik het stroeve van metaal doorbreken met sierlijke beelden.
Het harde en koude van ijzer moet verdwijnen door zijn latere roestige kleur.
Door verschillende recyclage materialen (ook metaal) een andere bestemming te geven kom ik ook tot een ander beeld.
Beeldend kunstenaar Roland Rens(+) zei: " Uw creativiteit mag je door niets laten beperken".
Dit zal ik nooit meer vergeten.

WILL SCHROPP - The Beauty Within the Wood

'Life' and 'The Dream of Flying' are constant themes in Will's beautiful wood work. And when he speaks of his process, he doesn't only refer to beauty of form and material, colour and veins, he also speaks of its emotional value.

In 2008 wood which was 8800 years old(!) was found in a field in Drenthe in The Netherlands. Will is one of several artists creating sculptures from this special wood, documented in a televison series by Teleac TV.

As a special 'signature' Will has for more than twenty years included a sculpted jacket in his exhibitions - (home is where his jacket hangs:)

Will Schropp wil laten zien dat je als vormgever uitstekend gebruik kunt maken van hout. Wanneer een idee na soms vele schetsen is uitgewerkt, zoekt hij er het hout bij dat er perfect op aansluit. De schoonheid van de vorm en het materiaal zijn belangrijk. Niet alleen de kleur of de nervatuur spelen een rol, maar ook de gevoelswaarde. Het spreekt vanzelf, dat daarvoor niet alleen kennis van het materiaal belangrijk is, maar ook het weten hoe bomen in mythologie, sprookjes en literatuur voorkomen. De keuze voor hout van bomen die hier groeien, ligt dan voor de hand. Iedere houtsoort is geschikt voor binnenbeelden, voor tuinbeelden en grafmonumenten zijn dat er maar een paar zoals bijvoorbeeld acacia, thuja en tamme kastanje . Het “leven” en “de droom om te kunnen vliegen” zijn vaste thema’s in zijn werk. En als een soort beeldmerk hangt er al meer dan twintig jaar op iedere tentoonstelling een houten jas. In de zomer van 2008 werd in een Drentse akker het oudste hout van Nederland gevonden, 8800 jaar oud. Van dit hout heeft Will Schropp al diverse beelden gemaakt. In de beeldhouwserie van Teleac-tv heeft hij veel mensen het maken van houten beelden laten meebeleven.

TIM ROOSEN - Metal wonders

The work of this artist bridges the ancient crafts such as blacksmiths and bronze casting, and the world of modern art. Often, an ornate, plant metal sculpture combined with an almost industrial framework. Materials such as wrought iron and bronze are easily combined with stainless steel and Cor-Ten steel.

Het meest typerend voor zijn stijl is de sculptuur-reeks ‘Strange Fruit’. Ieder werk in deze reeks, is een momentopname in de ontwikkeling en levensloop van een vreemdsoortige en buitenwereldse plant. Het kan gaan om een zaadbol, een ontluikende bloem, een rijpende vrucht of een afstervende plant. Elke sculptuur toont echter ook de evolutie en overlevingsdrang van deze vreemde flora, want zelfs bij een uitgebloeid specimen is er steeds een teken van nieuw leven.

INGRID SILIAKUS - Paper Architect

'Key'

The way Ingrid’s artwork is created is expressed remarkably by her spatial thinking capabilities. Only a few are as gifted as she is. The artist, living in Amsterdam, is an autodidact. By means of self study she became crafted in paper-architecture. This art form has its roots in Japan (developed by professor Masahiro Chatani).

Paper-architecture is best described as the art to form objects out of one single sheet of paper. By securely cutting and folding three dimensional forms are shaped. The basis of this cutting and folding is the design. This process can take weeks and even months of precise drawing and calculations even at a hundreds of a millimetre. The objects are designed layer by layer. A typical characteristic of Ingrid’s work is the complexity and high level of detail. Her designs are architectural as well figurative as abstract. It is not a surprise her artwork is internationally acknowledged.

Enthusiastic and enterprising, Brigitte Dance spends most of her artistic energy on sculpture.

She has participated in numerous symposia for monumental stone sculptures abroad (Lithuania, Austria, USA, ...)
Her interest in research has led her to not be locked into a single technique: In addition to stone, she also works in metal and earth, snow, ...

My big teenage hero was Magritte; and many years ago I made a small sculpture inspired by one of Magritte's paintings - I just recently found this again, and realized this little man I had sculpted so many years ago had a perfect likeness to the man I am about to marry:) - I was so thrilled! And this painting came as a result; (for those who are familiar with Magritte, I'm sure I don't need to point to the man in the painting:)
