And the new sign is up outside -
we have a lot of people passing here - as our house is an old train station, where the railroad now has been changed into a wonderful walking/horseback-riding, and of course bicycle route!

10 NEW artists exhibiting in 'The Enchanted Garden' this year! - and 20 are invited back!

As the curator of 'The Enchanted Garden' I am thrilled and excited about this year's Art Sanctuary's exhibition!
- We have 10 new artists exhibiting!

Lydia Schöder - NL

 
 
Uitgangspunten van mijn objecten is beweging, vandaar dat het voor mij logisch is om licht toe te voegen aan mijn werk door middel van glas. Naast het glas plaats ik een bronzen vorm die de beweging draagt. Het is een tegenvorm voor het zachte  glas , in contrast met het harde kartelige brons.
De bronzen delen zijn vervormde en verbogen afdrukken van tand- en rader- wielen,schors, schelpen die symbool staan voor de cyclus van het leven, voor mij.
Spriraal vorm                                         
 Dan zoek je naar de betekenis van een spiraal vorm en die wordt vaker gebruikt  als “ symbool”  voor de voortgang van het leven. Zoals Mario Mertz het gebruikt in zijn werk De Fabinacci reeks, of ook wel de Gulden  snede, je zet twee konijntjes bij elkaar en uiteindelijk krijg je een heleboel konijntje, dit kun je om zetten in een getallen reeks 1 en 1
Het aantal aanwezige konijnenparen in een maand groeit dan precies volgens: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, ...
Uiteindelijk zet je dit om in deze mooie vorm  en deze vorm zag ik steeds weer terug in mijn werk het blijkt dat ik dus niet de enige ben maar dat meer mensen deze vorm gebruiken en zelfs de natuur: Naast het verband met de gulden snede blijken de getallen van Fibonacci ook elders in de natuur voor te komen, onder andere bij de groei van planten en bloemen. Bekijk bijvoorbeeld de structuur van een zonnebloem en tel het aantal spiralen waarin de zonnepitten gerangschikt zijn.

Martine Bossuyt vertolkt in haar beelden en schilderijen de stille kracht van beschouwelijkheid en inkeer, van de trage, bedachtzame bewegingen van de ziel die, voorbij de drukke actualiteit en de dringende orde van de dag, naar binnen kijkt en ziet en zwijgt.
Die stilte is evenwel geen blanco stilte, geen vrijblijvend afzien van communicatie. Integendeel, haar beelden vertolken de meest subtiele gemoedsbewegingen, hun verhaal gaat een fijnbesnaarde conversatie aan met de toeschouwer die wordt uitgenodigd om op zijn beurt af te dalen in zijn eigen stilte.

Born in Boitsfort in 1963, lives in Leuven (B)
Each of my sculptures tells its own story that originates from a personal experience. I want to express all of these experiences and this gives my sculptures a strong but vulnerable appearance.
They represent mostly people who are searching for and are in need of connection and security, but at the same time they want to keep their own power. They are looking for a kind of harmony and want to live life fully; sometimes vulnerable, sometimes strong yet always in search of their own place of comfort... which they want to share with others.
What is typical about my sculptures is that I start out modelling from natural materials such as bark, branches and bean shells, which inspire me through their form, movement and structure. These materials leave an imprint which I gratefully embrace and form.

Mes sculptures racontent toutes leur propre histoire. Inspirées d'une expérience personnelle, je veux leur donner la place qu'elles méritent. Au travers de chaque expérience, ces œuvres démontrent une reconnaissance vulnérable.
A l'image de l'homme qui cherche, qui a besoin de connexion, de sécurité, mais qui veut garder en même temps sa propre force. Tout comme l'homme qui aspire à une certaine harmonie et à atteindre la plénitude de sa vie; parfois vulnérable, parfois forte, toujours à la recherche de son nid douillet, qu'il préfère également partager avec d'autres.
La particularité de mes œuvres est l'inspiration que m'apportent les matières naturelles comme de l'écorce, des branches, des légumineuses, par leur forme, leur mouvement et leur structure. Ces matières laissent une empreinte dont je m'imprègne avec gratitude et que je façonne.

Mijn sculpturen vertellen allemaal een eigen verhaal, dat vertrekt vanuit een persoonlijke ervaring. Al die ervaringen wil ik graag tot uitdrukking brengen, wat mijn werk kwetsbaarheid en een sterke herkenbaarheid geeft. Zo wil ik laten zien hoe een mens steeds zoekende is, behoefte heeft aan verbondenheid en geborgenheid, maar toch zijn eigen kracht wil behouden. Een mens betracht harmonie en wil voluit in het leven staan. Nu eens kwetsbaar, dan weer krachtig, en steeds op zoek naar zijn eigen nest, dat zij of hij het liefst wil delen met anderen.
Heel typerend voor mijn werk is dat ik bij de opbouw van mijn sculpturen vertrek vanuit natuurlijke materialen als schors, takken, peulvruchten, die mij met hun vorm en structuur inspireren. Ze laten hun afdruk achter, die ik dankbaar omarm en waar ik mee speel.

'Plenitude'
 
Les femmes de Jean-Luc Absil ont l’opulence des formes d’une vie épanouie.
Sa sculpture, d’un réalisme serein et d’une sensualité naturelle, dégage une atmosphère de volupté retenue.
Tantôt mères et pudiques, tantôt maîtresses et provocatrices, c’est dans ces thèmes qu’il recherche le naturel érotique et qu’il idéalise la volupté du corps et son pouvoir de séduction.
"Travaillant la résine et le bronze, Jean-Luc Absil se fait le chantre de la féminité par ses sculptures aux allures guillerettes.
Les modèles se fondent en de langoureuses poses érotiques, leur visage conservant son mystère total, celui de la femme- femme.
A peine moins plantureuses que celles de Maillol, ses sculptures conservent une allure forte et assurée en dégageant une modernité dans leur sensualité"

Entretenue par la marche et le voyage, mon inspiration artistique  est faite de rencontres avec les hommes et les paysages arides du monde. Déserts chauds du Maghreb, falaises rocheuses d’Amérique du Sud, monts volcaniques d’Indonésie, glaciers d’Islande, douceurs du Japon, personnages ordinaires d’ici et de là-bas sont autant de richesses pour mon imaginaire qui y prend racine et grandit.

Raw clay is the main material of these sculptures, kneaded and moulded into characters being an expression of movement and emotion.

 Il semble que depuis 2006, ce soit le temps que cet artisan d’art tente de saisir dans ses sculptures en fer.
 La moindre ferraille se voit transformée en cheval de course, en poule joueuse de golf, en lecteurs de moules à gaufres,
certaines courent,  sautent  ou se parent d’abats jour.
 Sa créativité et son inspiration  vous feront sourire et donneront une touche d’originalité à votre intérieur  ou à votre jardin.""
 

Marjan Smit

 
Hoe maakt Marjan Smit haar glasobjecten? Hoe maakt ze haar grafiek? Mededeling vooraf: een kunstvoorwerp spreekt je aan of het spreekt je niet aan. Het wordt niet mooier als je weet hoe het is gemaakt. Maar het geeft wel wat meer begrip over de puur ambachtelijke en technische vaardigheden die er voor nodig zijn.

Øystein Sevåg

is a Norwegian classical and world music musician.

as sound-installations throughout The Enchanted Garden this year!
 

Øystein Sevåg was born near Oslo, Norway in 1957, beginning piano lessons at age five. As a teen he played bass in a rock band but returned to his classical roots in time to study piano, flute and composition at a private Music Conservatory in Oslo; by the 1980s, however, Sevåg had become fascinated by the possibilities offered by the development of the synthesizer, and he plunged into electronic music with his self-released 1989 debut LP Close Your Eyes and See.
The product of five years in the studio, the album slowly crept into Billboard's New Age charts in the USA, and it landed Sevåg on the Windham Hill label to issue the follow-up, 1993's Link. He returned two years later with Global House, a record reflecting a newfound interest in acoustic sounds and worldbeat textures, including didgeridoo and string quartet; the ambient album Visual, a collaboration with guitarist Lakki Patey, followed in 1996. Signing to Hearts of Space Records, Sevåg resurfaced in 1997 with the acclaimed Bridge, with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, winning the Indie Award in USA for the best new age recording of the year.
From 1999 to 2005, he lived in Freiburg, South Germany, where among other things he worked on music therapy together with Maria Sevag and the psychologist Katharina Martin.
In April 2005, Sevåg's new album Caravan was released, 8 years after his previous album Bridge. The new material was introduced on a concert in Oslo in March. In June one of his new compositions in the classical area - a string trio - had its first performance on Casa dei Mezzo Music Festival on Crete, Greece, and in April 2006 in Madrid. In October 2005 he had two concerts in Norway with his "Global House Band" - followed up by ten small solo concerts at the Vigeland Mausoleum in Oslo.
In the spring 2006 Øystein Sevåg moved to Oslo. He produced singer/songwriter Eliksir's debut album Earthly Things, released in 2007. His latest album Based on a True Story was released in 2007. In February 2006 he met the singer/songwriter Benedicte Torget, and worked with her as a co producer, arranger and piano player on her debut album After a Day of Rain, released in August 2008.
In April 2010 he released his studio album The Red Album collaborating with Peter Wettre, Bendik Hofseth, Andreas Bye, Paolo Vinaccia, Ole Marius Melhuus, Zotora Nygard, Sara Övinge, Audun Erlien and Eivind Aarset.
In March 2012 Øystein Sevåg released album Space For a Crowded World - as the "most ambient album since Visual."
